The Innocence Project

The Innocence Blog: News Updated Daily

Mission Statement
The Innocence Project was founded in 1992 by Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University to assist prisoners who could be proven innocent through DNA testing. To date, 268 people in the United States have been exonerated by DNA testing, including 17 who served time on death row. These people served an average of 13 years in prison before exoneration and release.

The Innocence Project’s full-time staff attorneys and Cardozo clinic students provide direct representation or critical assistance in most of these cases. The Innocence Project’s groundbreaking use of DNA technology to free innocent people has provided irrefutable proof that wrongful convictions are not isolated or rare events but instead arise from systemic defects. Now an independent nonprofit organization closely affiliated with Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, the Innocence Project’s mission is nothing less than to free the staggering numbers of innocent people who remain incarcerated and to bring substantive reform to the system responsible for their unjust imprisonment.

"...it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us ..."

...in an over active imagination, sometimes you see a story at almost every angle; sometimes you tell it best, sometimes someone tells it better ...

Crime Scene Investigation

It seems I just can't put down my IPhone with the Hipstamatic App even with the purchase of my new Zeiss lens which I do adore.

I'm not sure if it is the small writer/storyteller inside that feels the need to create a story with photos, or if it is subliminal messaging left over from last nights episode of Criminal Minds, but I just put this together and feel a sinister story lurking within. As much as it interest me to write the story, it interests me more for others to write the story. I would LOVE for someone to start the story, someone to follow ...... and another entry and then another ...... until .......THE END! Would someone care to start?!
